Founded in 1944, in a small pastry shop on Viale Monza in Milan, the enterprising Angelo Vergani started his own bakery. Now, Vergani is celebrated for its traditional panettone and other holiday treats.
Based on the traditional recipe, this Italian Christmas cake is made with, flour, butter, egg yolk and natural yeast that founder Angelo Vergani created many years ago. It is studded with sweet white chocolate and rich salted caramel. Excellent on its own, this Italian cake pairs well with fresh berries, preserves, and sweet spreads.
Enjoy with a cup of coffee for an afternoon pick-me-up, accompanied by a decadent Negroni cocktail, or serve as dessert with a glass of wine.
